Winter is around the corner

 Winter is around the corner. The plumbing in the house needs few things to be taking care. Here are few of them:

1. Turn of the spigot. If you have a frost free we advise to buy from your local Depot a foam bell to cover over the winter. If there is a shut off valve in the basement turn it of and drain the water from the spigot.

2. Check the main sewer line if is in good shape with no roots and no shifts. Video camera inspection recommended every 2 years.

3. Make sure the kitchen sink drain is not obstructed because don't forget Thanksgiving is in less then 1 month.

4. Check the water heater if is set up to properly temperature. Check for leaks at the unions.

5. Maintain during the winter a properly temperature in the basement.

Now you are ready for winter.

New cozy bathroom done

 We just finished a new bathroom remodeling.  Customer bought the top line fixtures, tiles and bath tub glass door. We think is a well job done.

Draining the back yard

We installed a new drainage for the back yard. We connected with a fully operational drain tile system which tie into the storm system.

We used two gutter grates drainage for a surface of 450 sqf. The drainage piping used is PVC SCH 40 because the depth is around 18 inches above the frozen level of the ground.

Summer time

There is summer time. Nice weather,  parks are calling us, good cold beer, and a lot of fun. But is never to late to take care of your house plumbing. You can improve the plumbing in your house, you can prepare the plumbing for winter. Yes for winter. Cleaning the main sewer, checking the sump pump, checking the water pipes insulation in spaces low heated, like crawl spaces, unfinished basements, exterior walls. 

And now cheer up a good cold beer!

Work with inspections

How important do you think is that your plumbing project to have a permit pulled out from the cities or villages?

We can tell you is the second most important after the project himself. By applying for a permit you will have the peace in mind somebody will certified the good work done by the plumbing contractor. After you signed the contract and pulled out permit, by yourself or by the plumbing contractor next step is to start the project. The inspections should be one or multiple base on how complex is the project. After every inspection the inspector will issue the acceptance and pass. At the final inspection the inspector will issue a document with pass of the work or will email to homeowner or plumbing contractor. Keep that document. Now you can pay the plumbing contractor and take advantage of the benefit of your plumbing project.

It is a long time since we posted the last info. Unfortunately the time is the bad guy here. I kept this blog alone and  because of the volume of work it was impossible to keep you informed with news from plumbing side. Also it was the Google which change their policy. But enough with this.
