Few words!

It is very important when you move to a new house is to check the hidden problems. Sometimes are hard to find, sometimes those are hidden by the previous homeowner. All those are very painful and you can fill them in your pocket. But some of them you can prevent to rise like a nightmare in your face. One of them is to check before you sign up the contract for new house the sewer main line. Few hundreds dollar can save thousands most of the time. Don't forget to call a plumber, your plumber not somebody else plumber, with good sewer drain service skills and let him check the sewer with camera. Be smart, don't listen the neighbor!

P.S. Today we spent 4 hrs to open a sewer main line for a house where probably last cleaning has been done in ice age. We make it and now everything is OK.

Thanksgiving plumbing tips!

Thanksgiving is around the corner! For all of us is a good time to be with our families and closer friends. The thanksgiving diner is one of the pick of this beautiful holiday. But from plumbing point of view is sometimes a huge nightmare. Here are some tips to count of:
1. Do not, under any circumstance, dump grease directly down your drain. Grease solidifies when it cools and will solidify on the inside of your plumbing.
2. Always collect excess grease in spare containers. Wait for it to solidify and then dispose of it.
3. Never force large amounts of food down the garbage disposal at once. Give the unit plenty of time to grind the food before adding more.
4. Don't use your garbage disposal as a trash can. Turkey bones splinter (That's why you can't feed them to your dog.) and fibrous vegetable skins can wind around the blade, causing the disposal to come to a screeching halt.
5. Always turn on the water before starting the garbage disposal, and keep it running for a minute after turning off the disposal to move the waste through the pipes. Some mix water and vinegar will help, too.

AGAIN!

The cold season is upon us. Again. But don't forget to be prepare with your plumbing for winter season. Did you drained the out side spigot? No, it is time to do it. Are you sure the kitchen drain is clean? Thanksgiving is here and you don't want your dishes to back up in the laundry tub, don't you? Call a plumber and let him to clean the kitchen drain. The main line I don't ask if is OK. It is not? OK than? Needs a good cleaning and you'll have a great year ending. Also the low temperature can burst your piping if those are expose and not insulated. Visualized all expose piping in your house, most in the basement and crawlspaces and if something is not well call the plumber and he will check for you. And by the way don't look for free service. Free is coming and less service is giving. Good job is a worthy job and needs to be compensated at his value.

Have a safe and easy winter!
