Water and sewage treatment cost money.
When
you reduce water consumption, you can save on both counts. If you have
an older water-guzzling toilet and it starts to need repairs, give
serious thought to replacing it entirely.
Instead
of spending money on what will probably be a continuous string of
repairs, invest wisely and get a reliable fixture that will save you
money over the long run.
This is also true for faucets and shower heads. Anytime these need attention, consider replacing them with new, water-saving units.
When the water heater getting old, consider to replace with another water heater or with a tank less, but you must follow the manufacturer recommendation.
If you forgot to clean your main line and the clean out is inside the basement with a 3 inch size, is better consider to install 6 inch outside clean out for a better cleaning. By the way the main sewer line is 6 inch size.
And don't forget something: do not listen your neighbor. He is not a licenses plumber!

Tips for clogs
Clogs are one of the most common homeowner problems. They are not only an
annoyance, but can also lead to overflows and water damage. Keep your drains
clog-free by implementing these easy preventative practices.
Never flush sanitary napkins, baby wipes, or very thick toilet paper down the toilet. These can expand or get caught on corroding pipes and cause clogs. Instead, dispose of them in bio-degradable bags. This not only prevents clogs but also is an Eco-friendly way to dispose of soiled sanitary products.
Do not use liquid cleaning supplies meant to clear clogs. These cleaners can damage pipes. Rather, try using a plumbing snake or plunger. There are only few liquid cleaning in the market which really does the work.
Utilize strainers to catch hair in showers and tubs. There’s a different size for drains. By the wire ones, are more efficient than plastic one.
Never put fat, grease, or cooking oils down the drain. These fats solidify in cold pipes and cause clogs. To dispose, put it in a Tupperware and leave it on your counter until it solidifies. Then dispose of it in a compost bin for garbage collection.

Excavation under driveway.
First picture show the issue in the main line. The length of the main sewer line was 140 ft, much to long for a properly cleaning. In time the roots went through the hub sealing and clogged the line. At 45 ft has been installed the clean out for future maintenance. The depth of the trench was 3 ft. The last picture show us the site after all the work has been finished.

catch basin in three steps
The old catch basin was falling apart under the ground pressure. Needed urgent reconstruction. First step was to bring at surface the old blocks. Then at 1ft under main line pipe it was an old foundation for catch basin which we use for new catch basin blocks.
In the 2nd picture the catch basin has been rebuild and new 3ft pipe has been installed , the old one missing completely. The catch basin diameter is 4.5 ft at base and 4 ft at top.
This picture shown the lid and the surrounding area at the end of the work.
The job has been completed in one day by 3 workers.
